Meet the FBC Grandview Staff!

  • Lead Pastor - Corey Cornutt

I was born and raised in West Texas, attending a small six-man school named Highland.  I grew up in the middle of cotton fields, in which I spent many summer days working for family members.  I still enjoy the opportunity to ocassionally return to West Texas and enjoy a wide open starry night sky.  I received my Bachelor's Degree in Church Ministry from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, and I earned my Master's of Divinity through Logsdon Seminary at Hardin-Simmons.

I am married to my high-school sweetheart Cheryl.  We married in December of 2003, just months after I answered my first pastoral calling in Moran, Texas.  Cheryl is my best friend and my greatest encourager...who is also known to keep me honest.  I consider her a teammate both in life and in ministry.

In 2012, while we were serving our second church as pastor in Bronte, Texas, we were blessed with our first child, Corban.  We were blessed with his two little brothers, Canon & Cai, while living here in Grandview in 2016 & 2018.  The three boys are full of energy and keep us on our toes.  We have enjoyed becoming a family and are excited to see what God has in store for all of us.

I have been serving Grandview as pastor since September of 2014.  We love the people of Grandview, and we believe that this church is poised to see great things happen for the Kingdom of God.

I enjoy spending time with my family; including playing the games at Chuck E. Cheese, sports, reading, good music, and good movies.  My favorite books are "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis and "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy.  I enjoy all types of music but have found myself listening mainly to folk music along with praise and worship lately.  And my favorite movie is "The Shawshank Redemption."

  • Student Pastor - Eric Waits

I was born in Fort Worth, Texas and was raised in East Texas. We moved shortly after I was born to a little community in East Texas called Holly Lake. Before my family and I moved to Cleburne, I completed my junior year at Harmony High School. It was shortly after when I started working for David’s Supermarket. I loved Grandview so much that I attended and graduated from Grandview High School my senior year. I have recently received my bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Andersonville Theological Seminary. I look forward to getting my master’s degree in the near future.

I am married to my best friend and partner in crime, Bailey Waits. We married on March 23rd, 2008. We have 2 kids (Brice and Rylee) full of life and energy that love to serve the Lord. We are excited to see what God does through our family!

Some of my hobbies include fishing, hunting, playing video games, and hanging out with my family. I love the outdoors so when I get a chance to convey Gods wondrous landscape, I take full advantage of it. Also, I thoroughly enjoy reading as well. My favorite book is “Becoming a Contagious Christian” by Bill Hybels. I love music in general but mostly listen to country and praise and worship. I am a huge dork when it comes to movies . . . especially The Avengers, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings.

  • Worship Minister - Ethan Yates

Ethan is a native of east Texas.  He has been playing as well as writing music for over 15 years. Prior to his move to Grandview he lived in Tennessee, and before that he served as a Student Pastor for ten years in Texas.

Having grown up in the church, he has a deep love for both traditional and modern worship hymns that convey Biblical truths about who God is. His desire is to lead congregations in true, Christ-centered worship.

While he has worked with professional musicians, artists, and songwriters in Nashville, his real love is found in worshiping with a local congregation. He has many years of experience leading worship for church congregations, as well as youth camps and other church events.

Ethan is a student of the BMA Seminary in Jacksonville, Texas. He and his wife Krysta have a baby boy, Walker, who was born in August of this 2021. They are currently enjoying sleeping when they can and also sleeping when they can.

  • Minister to Children & Families - Lindsay Farmer

    Bio coming soon!

  • Childcare Coordinator - Julie Swift

Around here at FBC I am known as Miss Julie, Miss Juju, or JuJu.

I joined FBC in 1999. In 2007, I joined the staff as a nursery attendant. In 2013, I became the Childcare Coordinator. I love the challenge of reaching and teaching kids at FBC. God has allowed me to experience total reliance on Him as He provides the volunteers and resources each week to take care of the growing numbers of preschool children as we love them and point them to Jesus.

God has blessed me with many opportunities to learn from kids…. they are great teachers! As most teachers know, teaching kids is an adventure that changes you forever! There is never a dull moment and always a long list of needs to be met from infants and preschool!

I grew up in Cleburne, TX, and I became a Christian at the age of 8. At the age of 14, I started helping in the nursery with babies and preschoolers. God had blessed me during this time to work with many children and to be able to share with kids the love of Christ.

When I am not serving here at FBC, I am a caregiver for a family and have been for about 20 years as I care for their son who has autism. This has brought many challenges along the way, but it has shown me that God can work through all people.

  • Children's Day Out Director - Ashli Mayse

    Bio Coming Soon!

  • Church Secretary - Lindsey Higgins

    Bio Coming Soon!

  • Financial Secretary - Cindy Rankin

While not a native Texan, as they say, I got here as fast as I could.  I grew up in the Mid-Cities, graduating from L.D. Bell high school then attending college at The University of Texas at Arlington.  I moved to the wonderful community of Grandview in 1998.  I have over 30 years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting, and I have been blessed to serve as the Financial Secretary of FBC since 2006.

My husband Chris and I have six amazing children!  We have three girls and three boys, plus a bonus son-in-law and two daughters-in-law.  Our oldest son, Zach, lives with his family here in Grandview.  Our oldest daughter, Chrissy, lives in southern Missouri and is a student at Missouri State.  Our second oldest daughter, Cassie and her husband, Reid, are full time students at New England Law in Boston.  Our second oldest son, Tristen, lives in Grandview.  Our youngest son, Matthew serves in the Army.  He and his wife, Felicity, are stationed in Colorado.  Our youngest daughter, Jillian, will be attending Tarleton State University this fall.

In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering, traveling, reading, scrapbooking, football, NASCAR, and most importantly, spending time with my family.  I credit my mother for instilling in me a sense of community and volunteerism.  Chris and I have been very active members of the band booster club for the Grandview Independent School District for many years.  We often traveled with the Thundering Herd to games, competitions, and exhibitions.  It is amazing to me the impact we can have on our youth just by being an active part of their lives.  While Chris and I have recently retired from the band booster club, you will still see us at every home football game, cheering our Zebras on!  We love giving back to our community and wouldn’t have it any other way!
